How often should you re-oil a wood floor?

Depends on traffic. A hallway off the front door in Scotland needs it far more often than a bedroom.

The short answer

How often do we need to re-oil our oiled floor? This will all depend on what is coming through your house.

If your front door is leading onto the outside, where here we are in Scotland and it has been raining, and you come in, going down that main hallway, that area is going to need re-oiled more than, say, around your bedroom, around the bed.

But we generally say, at a minimum six months, let us re-oil your floor. If you have got high traffic, or you have had a Christmas for example, you have had 40 people in your house, then yes, you probably want to oil the floor after that.

Light traffic, the second or third floor apartment, and you have got carpet before it leads into your flat, then it is less likely.
