Why do you scrape the wall before putting the skirtings back?
Old caulk is what causes that gap between skirting and wall, so we scrape it off before refitting.
The short answer
The thing a lot of customers ask about, when we put this skirting back on, is why there is sometimes a gap between the skirting and the wall before it gets caulked. That is mainly because there is already a layer of caulk that needs to come off.
We scrape the walls to make sure that we get a nice clean surface, put the new skirtings back on, and then it just needs to be recaulked. That is what hides the gap.
So we scrape down your skirtings to make sure that we get a nice clean finish.
