What is the difference between smoked oak and natural oak?

Same timber. Smoked has been kilned so the colour runs all the way through the veneer.

The short answer

Both of these products are the exact same timber. This one has gone through a kiln process where it has been given this lovely colour to it. That colour is homogenous throughout the board, which means that it is the same colour through the veneer of the oak. So when you sand this down, you are going to get this same colour throughout.

This is your natural, brushed. Again, it is just a natural oak with a lacquer over the top of it. So when you sand this down you will get this particular colour as well.

They are both fantastic products, in just two very different colours.
