Do you cover the house to protect it from dust?

We seal doorways, sheet up and run dust extraction, though no flooring job is ever completely dust free.

The short answer

So the question is, do we cover the rest of the house? This will all depend on the job. For example, if we are uplifting tiles, we like to seal off the doorways that we are not uplifting.

If we are in a kitchen, for example, or uplifting tiles, we are going to put dust sheets over the kitchen and seal the kitchen door so that we do not get any dust in these.

In terms of the house we are working in, as you can see behind me here we have got our saw that is hooked up to a dust extractor. So whenever we turn the saw on, it sucks it in. But it is not getting everything. And when we do uplift carpets and other timbers, there is all sorts of stuff that comes up with that.

So although we do our best to cover all the areas, it is impossible to be dust free.
