What is your flooring installation process?
The whole job start to finish: estimate, prep, delivery, fitting days and the final walkthrough.
The short answer
Once you have chosen a product we email you a form. You send back your floor plan, pictures of each of the rooms and the details of what you want done. That feeds straight through to us on our system and gives us a very accurate estimate of how much it will cost. In most cases we do not need to come out to site at all. We will only visit if there is something unusual about your subfloor.
Your estimate is itemised line by line, so you can see exactly where the money is going and how much each individual item costs. If there is anything on it you would rather take upon yourself, like removing the waste or uplifting the carpet, we simply take those lines off and they will not be there on the final invoice. The final invoice only differs from the estimate if the square metreage changes a little bit less or a little bit more.
Prior to us arriving the product needs to be on site, in the room we are installing it. Engineered timber needs a minimum of 48 hours. Solid oak needs at least two weeks. You will also need thresholds, if required, for the doorways we are not going into.
We arrive at 8am and work through to about five o clock. We can move big items of furniture, but pot plants, breakables on side tables, pictures, glassware, all that needs to be removed, and bedding needs to come off. Keep in mind it is going to be dusty. We do have dust extractors and we try to make it as clean as possible.
Once the job is complete we do a final walkthrough through all the different areas and cover off any snagging. We take the utmost care in your property, and if we have damaged anything we will see what we can do in terms of reimbursement or fixing. We will run through maintenance with you, depending on what product you have chosen.
