How do you fit flooring around kitchen kickboards and PVC doors?
Kickboards come out and go back in. PVC thresholds get a thin trim to hide the expansion gap.
The short answer
On this job we removed the kick boards, cut them down and put them back in. There were no decorative panels, so there was no need to undercut that.
On some jobs you will find that there are decorative panels that we do need to undercut and take down.
When we come up to a PVC door like this, there is a number of ways to finish it. We have got a thin timber strip here just to hide the expansion gap up to that. So that looks quite neat.
